The Universal American School, Kuwait (UAS) is a private, nonprofit, co-educational, college-preparatory institution serving a multinational student body from Pre-K through Grade 12. UAS opened its doors in September 1975 with approximately 300 students, marking the beginning of a strong tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities. Today, the school proudly serves over 1,800 students from around the world as it approaches its 50th year of excellence in education.
UAS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). Admission is highly selective and based on an interview and required entrance examinations at all grade levels.
The school employs approximately 380 staff members, including highly qualified teachers and many long-term employees. A large percentage of the faculty hold advanced degrees in addition to the required teaching certifications.
